Hello All,

I'm jumping on to say Hi and let you in on why I created Ladies on the Land.

My dream is to unite women from all Australian agricultural sectors—both water and land—along with ladies who live on the land. We’ve faced disasters, droughts, floods, bushfires and plagues in the last couple of years and I want to ensure we have ongoing connections, access to adaptive tools and a strong community we can rely on. With local Ladies on the Land groups, we create opportunities, giving Ladies on the Land the chance to connect, gather, learn and laugh together, locally and across Australia.

The past few years have been incredibly tough and I found myself struggling. What I'd forgotten is life isn’t about waiting for the drought/flood/plague/fire/disaster/event to pass, it’s about learning to dance (take new steps or adapt) in the dust/mud/eaten crops/ashes/new normal.

I don't want anyone to go through the tough times alone. So please, jump in, join in, invite your friends and envision what a local group might look like in your district. Laughs, learning and lunch!

Take care,

Kalen

  • Our primary goal is to connect women from all sectors of Australian agriculture - both water and land - and those living on the land. We aim to create a strong, supportive community that provides consistent connections, access to tools and opportunities for learning and laughter. Our focus is on ensuring women have a reliable network to depend on, regardless of the challenges we face.

  • Any woman involved in the Australian agricultural industry or living on the land in Australia is welcome to join. Whether you're a farmer, a marketer, a researcher, a book keeper, a home maker, a rural resident, or have other connections to agriculture, we encourage you to become a member. To join, fill out the membership form and you'll be connected to a group in your local area. If there isn't one nearby, we'll help you start one!
